As a child, L.L. loved to double-check the back of closets for hidden portals to Narnia, pretend to be Jo March from Little Women, and get lost in the colorful artwork of a picture book. Today, L.L. reflects on her love of children's literature through her own stories and illustrations.  She especially enjoys writing  middle grade and young adult books. L.L. likes to inject a bit of quirkiness, eccentric characters, and plenty of humor to balance the darker themes in her stories. Currently, L.L. is seeking representation for two middle-grade novels (fantasy and urban fantasy) and one YA romantic-comedy.

• In 1999, I was selected as the grand prize winner in an international contest (children's comic strip). The prize was a year's study with syndicated cartoonist, illustrator, and writer, Guy Gilchrist (Nancy, Muppets Comics). I continue to maintain contact with Guy.
